In need of a chocolate fix?! These cakey OREO BROWNIES literally have me drooling. They seriously had to be some of the best brownies I’ve ever whipped up. If you're looking for a tasty treat and you're a fan of chocolate and Oreos this recipe is a must. Fudgey perfection if you ask me!
INGREDIENTS
- Flax egg: 2 tbsp ground flaxseed + 6 tbsp of water
- 1/2 a cup of chocolate chips
- 2.5 tbsp of butter
- 2.5 tbsp of neutral oil
- 1/3 cups of cocoa powder
- 1 cups of plain flour
- 3/4 cups of light brown sugar
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of baking soda
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 16 Oreos + more Oreos to top
- a few extra choc chips to top if you wish, bit I highly highllyy recommend it
METHOD
1. Preheat oven to 350F and line a 8x8 inch tray
2. Prepare you flax egg by mixing the flaxseed and water together. The mixture should thicken and become gooey.
3. Melt together your chocolate, butter and oil in a mug. I simply do this using the microwave
4. Then in a large bowl add your cocoa powder, plain flour, light brown sugar, baking powder and baking soda
5. Mix your melted chocolate mixture and milk into the dry ingredients bowl. Make sure the batter is mixture thorough and there are no dry chunks. I ended up using a hand beater to remove all bumps.
6. Then place the 16 Oreos at the bottom of the tray and poured the batter over the Oreos. Topped the batter with a few extra crushed Oreos and chocolate chips.
7. Bake the Oreos for rough 30-40 mins, make sure to check the brownies are cooked all the way through but not over cooked. You want to achieve the perfect level of fudginess.
