PECAN PIE BROWNIE

one of the most decadent mouth watering desserts I have ever created. Fudgy brownies topped with a pecan caramel. Calling all chocolate and pecan lovers! My grandma raved about this recipe for weeks hehe



Ingredients

BROWNIE LAYER

- 1/2 cup of almond flour

- 1/2 cup of plain flour

- 1/2 cup of cocoa

- 1.5 tsp of baking powder

- 2 eggs

- 1/2 cup of melted butter (cooled)/ coconut oil

- 1/2 cup of sugar

- 1 tsp of vanilla

PECAN LAYER

- 1 egg

- 1/2 cup of sugar

- 1 tsp of vanilla

- 1 cup of pecans


Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C / 350F and line a brownie dish (20x20 cm, 8x8 inch)

  2. Start by combining the almond flour, plain flour, cocoa, baking powder in a medium bowl

  3. In a separate large bowl whisk together the butter/oil, sugar, vanilla and eggs

  4. Pour the brownie batter into the lined dish and bake for 15mins

  5. While you wait for the brownies to bake begin to prepare pecan layer: whisk together the egg, sugar and vanilla in a small bowl and then fold in the pecans

  6. After the 15 mins is up, pour the pecan caramel over the brownies. Place the baking dish back into the oven for 20 mins or until a skewer comes out clean

  7. Allow to cool and then cut into 16 pieces
